Compatibility of the MorePowerTool program with graphics processors
Before downloading and running the MorePowerTool program, you should pay attention to its compatibility. At the moment, it works with all Navi cards. At the same time, it is worth considering that SPPT (SoftPowerPlayTables) in the registry significantly slows down or artificially introduces restrictions on the operation of drivers.
How to install MorePowerTool for overclocking Navi/Radeon VII video cards
The use of this program is that it allows you to unlock the factory limits, after which you can apply the necessary values by the miner (or any other suitable program). Installing MorePowerTool consists of several stages:
- Download the program. Download the program from a trusted source and install it, following the standard instructions. You will need to click the “Next” button everywhere. During the installation, MorePowerTool will inform you that it must be run with administrator rights.
- Copy the current BIOS. To work with the program, you need the original BIOS. First, you need to make a copy of it. Alternatively, you can use TechPowerUp GPU-Z, ATITool, or RivaTuner for this.
- Optimize for mining. Run MorePowerTool as an administrator – right-click, select “Load” and load the BIOS version saved earlier. In the selection window that appears, you need to select the BIOS file with the .rom extension. Alternatively, you can use any other BIOS that you found on the Internet. In the field above, you need to select your video card. After that, you can configure the main operating parameters: “Overdrive Limits”, “Power and Voltage”, “Frequencies” and “Frequency / Voltage”, “Fan”.
- Saving new parameters. To do this, use the “Save” button to save the BIOS to a settings file with edited Power Play tables. The program also has the “Write SPPT” and “Delete SPPT” buttons, but you should not use them yet.
At this stage, using the MorePowerTool utility is complete, since all further actions must be carried out in other programs. Keep in mind that in this case, you will not receive a ready-made BIOS file, but only a certain set of settings. In the future, all these parameters must be combined with the firmware.
