AMD Memory Tweak is a new tool that opens the source code to developers. As a result, users will be able to achieve changes in any memory timings of mining equipment in real-time. The program is designed for video cards. It was presented by Eliovp and A. Solodovnikov. It works exclusively from the command line.

In addition to the AMD Memory Tweak tool, there is also AMDMemoryTweakXL – this is a version with a graphical shell. The principle of its operation is similar to typical video card overclocking software. But AMD Memory Tweak pays attention to the memory aspect, so it is equipped with more advanced functions. The main one is adjusting memory timings on the fly.

What hardware is AMD Memory Tweak suitable for: system requirements

The program has standard requirements:

  • OS. Can be used on PCs with OS from Windows 7 to Windows 10, also compatible with Linux.
  • Drivers. All from Radeon Software Adrenalin version 19.4.1 are suitable, for Linux OS, and drivers from AMDGPU-Pro are compatible.
  • Video card. Compatible with many options, including AMD Radeon (from GDDR5 memory generation to HBM and HBM2).

If your equipment meets all the requirements, then you can proceed to installation.

How to download and correctly install AMD Memory Tweak

The program installation occurs in several steps:

  1. Download. The archive contains the WinAMDTweak.exe program, as well as other necessary system components (IOMap.sys, IOMap64.sys, etc.). Place these files in a suitable repository (place on your computer).
  2. Setup. First, you need to study the video memory timings. To do this, create a bat file (.bat extension) with the required digital parameters for mining. To do this, enter the code in the bat file: “WinAMDTweak.exe -current pause” (you need to enter it without quotes). Keep in mind that after this, the performance of the video card will increase, while the delays will decrease. For this step, it is worth reducing the value of all timings using the necessary programs.
  3. Activation. Open the ready-made bat file on your PC. You can place the file in the startup line. This is necessary so as not to manually fill in all the data every time after rebooting the PC.

At the last stage, you need to set the timing values that suit you. After that, check the operation.
